Designed for outdoor use on hard surfaces and grass, this vehicle features three sound modes that include real Cars 2 movie phrases in English or Spanish and race car sounds. With two forward drive speeds, one reverse speed, and a 6-volt rechargeable battery, this Lightning McQueen racer offers hours of fun for ages three and up.
Steel Frame is Built for Safety
The Power Wheels Lightning McQueen race car is constructed with a sturdy frame that supports a maximum weight of 65 pounds. Colorful racing decals, a rear spoiler, and a side-mounted dual exhaust highlight its durable red plastic exterior. For added safety, the interior of the vehicle features smooth contours and rounded edges to protect against cuts and scratches.
Three Sound Modes Offer Enhanced Play
To help bring Lightning McQueen to life, this racer includes three sound modes. Press the button on the steering wheel to select between movie phrases in English with race car sounds or in Spanish phrases with race car sounds. There's also an option to enjoy race car sounds only for realistic fun.
Two Speeds for Beginners and Advanced Users
Whether your child is a beginner or an advanced driver, the Lightning McQueen race car's two driving speeds can accommodate him or her. The vehicle features an electronic power lock braking system that automatically stops the vehicle when your child's foot lifts from the pedal. A shifter with high-speed lockout for beginners provides custom control of driving speeds--low speed for normal cruising, and high speed for maximum 3-1/2-mph racing. The vehicle can also shift into reverse for convenient backing up.
The Power Wheels Lightning McQueen race car performed remarkably well in testing. The vehicle took less than 60 minutes to assemble and 18 hours to fully charge. Its solid construction and low center of gravity provided optimal handling and balance. However, for a race car, a 12-volt battery would have been more appropriate to provide sufficient power. Despite this concern, kids will likely appreciate the sleek styling, powerful handling, and custom controls.
